He goes to the bathroom in the middle of the game, comes back, and beats me," Murray shares his son's passion for chess
Retired since 2024, Andy Murray hasn’t stayed away from the tennis world for long, as he joined Djokovic’s team a few months later. Although this collaboration was short-lived (6 months), the Brit hasn’t ruled out another coaching experience—just not anytime soon, as he explained to the BBC.
But that’s not all. Murray also opened up about his personal life, particularly his son’s passion for chess:
"My five-year-old son has thrown himself into chess, and I really enjoy playing with him because I’m not a very good player, but I have an analytical mind. I love the game and watching him learn and playing with him.
However, it’s tough to lose to a five-year-old when, in the middle of the game, he asks you to wipe his bottom. He goes to the bathroom in the middle of the match, comes back, and then beats me at chess. It’s a humbling lesson, a lesson for my ego.
