"He is much more comfortable in his own skin now," Kyrgios discusses Djokovic's place in the Big 3

Novak Djokovic is a living legend of tennis. Still active at 38, the Serbian former world No. 1 has won 100 ATP titles, including 24 Grand Slams, 40 Masters 1000s, and 7 ATP Finals.
An exceptional record built over time, despite the presence of two other sacred monsters in the same era of tennis history: Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal.
Often seen as the odd one out compared to the other two, Djokovic never received the same level of support as the Swiss and the Spaniard, who dominated tennis when the Belgrade native was making his breakthrough.
A Wimbledon finalist in 2022 against this same Djokovic, Nick Kyrgios knows the Serbian well and even partnered with him in doubles earlier this year in Brisbane. The unpredictable Australian player spoke about the place of this year's Geneva tournament winner in the famous Big 3, which shaped tennis for nearly two decades.
"He is much more comfortable in his own skin now. I think he wanted the crowd to love him as much as Roger (Federer) and Rafa (Nadal), but he loves being the villain. He draws energy when people heckle him from the stands. He is the greatest tennis player of all time, and I think he no longer cares as much about what people think.
We have respect for each other, and we are proof that different personalities can reach the top of the rankings without necessarily being loved by everyone," the Australian stated, as reported by Tennis Up To Date.
