He loves provoking people": Moutet responds to Bublik's comments
After their match in Paris, Bublik didn't hide his pleasure in teasing Moutet: "It's convenient that he lives in Paris, it's not far by taxi." The Frenchman, however, preferred not to fuel the clash.
While the second round of the Rolex Paris Masters between Alexander Bublik and Corentin Moutet ended without incident, the two men continue to trade jabs through the media.
Bublik, the winner of the match 6-3, 7-5, responded in style to the Frenchman, telling him "the way back home." Moutet, speaking in the mixed zone, was asked about the world No. 16's comments.
"I didn't hear what he said at the end. And now, I live in Dubai. [...] Today, I tried to focus on myself. There's nothing personal. He likes to make fun of players. I don't know what you expect from me.
Some people talk, others don't. I imagine he belongs to that first category of people. He loves provoking people.
I don't like that kind of thing. When things go beyond statements, I know how people behave.
I know what kind of person he is, beyond the image portrayed by the media. So there's no point in talking behind the microphone. I'll let him do it, because he's good enough at it.
