Present in the third round of the US Open after a hard-fought battle won against Sorana Cirstea (7-6, 6-7, 6-4), Karolina Muchova experienced a delicate situation at the start of the match.

The Czech player, a two-time semi-finalist in New York, was seen making gestures toward the stands while she was trailing 4-1.

In remarks reported by the media Express, she explained being disturbed by the presence of her ex-boyfriend:

"This has nothing to do with tennis, so I don’t like to talk about it. But my ex-boyfriend, who sometimes shows up where he shouldn’t be and where I am, sat down opposite my bench. It scared me a bit, and I asked him if he could leave.

He left a little while later. I’m happy with how I handled the situation. I had trouble concentrating, but then I found my rhythm and was able to fight for every ball.

A stalker ex is creepy no matter what gender they are. Who cares if it's a boyfriend or girlfriend?

She meant ex girlfriend. Just AI incorrectly translating.

She was indeed talking about ex boyfriend, a man, not a woman.

Czech people already talk about her interview and Muchova was talking about a man.

Lavish tournaments, record prize money, strategic partnerships: Saudi Arabia is imposing itself at breakneck speed in the world of tennis.

Since February 2022 and the invasion of Ukraine by Russia, Ukrainian sport has been heavily affected by human, structural and economic losses. Tennis has, of course, not been spared. While Ukrainian athletes have had to rethink their entire organization, an entire country, behind the scenes, has had to adapt and change its training conditions. This extends all the way to the highest level, where professional players have spoken out, trying as best they can to help their nation.

A tennis player's income depends solely on his sporting results. In the event of injury, the daily life of those far from the Top 100 can become extremely complicated.

Omnipresent cameras, line judges on the verge of extinction, mistakes that persist nonetheless: technology fascinates as much as it divides. Tennis, at a crossroads, is still searching for its balance between progress and emotion.

As we move to the end of this month and also closing out the year I am wishing all of those following me a Merry Christmas and a Happy/Healthy New Year.

Let's make that wish for all 2000 plus players hoping for 5 wins each day. Hoping ŵhen we open the results page to see all green, and no red. And especially NO CANCELED matches.

From me and my rotti JAZ, I bid you all good night, and see you in...

why did tennis tonic void predictions on the match between Chwalinska and Huergo at the Quito tournament? The match was played to completion and on time. If TT feels the match is one sided, and of course it was, then don't put it up for prediction. This is getting irritating.

The finals are here, and we scramble for the best finish. I've been chasing "King" all year and I was able to shrink the spread a little. Skelp is also closing the gap.

Seasons best to all the regulars in our league.

Will you all be back in the new year.?

Steffi Graf completed a Golden Slam (not just a career Grand Slam) when she was 19. She is the only person to accomplish that, winning the four majors plus Olympic gold the same calendar year.
