He wants to finish on a high note": Isner's insights on Djokovic's end of season

Registered for Paris, announced for Athens, uncertain for Turin: Novak Djokovic keeps his schedule unclear after Shanghai. John Isner provides insightful analysis on the Serbian's choices.
What will Novak Djokovic's schedule be after Shanghai? Two days ago, the player himself confirmed his participation in the new ATP 250 in Athens (November 2-8) and remained vague about the rest (Paris, Turin...).
In the latest episode of the Nothing Major podcast, John Isner, former opponent of the Serbian, shared his analysis of Djokovic's schedule management and his participation in Shanghai this week:
"I think he's playing in Shanghai because he's already taken quite a bit of time off this year. He clearly wants to play next year. If he didn't plan to have a similar schedule next year, he wouldn't be in Shanghai.
As you get older, the more time off you take, the longer periods of rest, the harder it is to recover (after matches). You have to play a minimum. I think that's what he's doing.
Shanghai has always attracted the top players, Federer was always present. I don't know if it was due to Rolex or something else, but in any case, Djokovic is there playing.
He's also had a lot of success in Shanghai. It's a way for him to stay involved on the tour. It will be interesting to see what he does after.
Last year, he decided not to play in Turin and Paris. If this is his last tournament of the year, he wants to at least finish on a high note with good matches, then prepare for the Australian Open.
