"He will leave when he is no longer one of the best players in the world," Roddick tired of questions about Djokovic's retirement

Hosting his podcast, *Served with Andy Roddick*, the former champion wanted to speak out regarding journalists' questions about the retirement of Serbian Novak Djokovic. Tired of the topic, the American stated:
"Novak reached three Grand Slam semifinals this year at 38 years old, incredible. Even in training, he never seems to panic. He is always in control of himself. He hasn’t played since Wimbledon, but in training, he was very strong.
What he is still doing today is simply incredible. And if a journalist were to ask him when he will retire, he should answer: 'When I am no longer one of the best players in the world,' thus sparing himself that question that keeps being asked. He hasn’t played since Wimbledon, but that won’t affect my choice much.
He is literally the third seed in every major tournament he currently enters, and this year, he reached three semifinals in major tournaments."
Currently at Flushing Meadows to compete in his 19th US Open, Djokovic successfully passed his first round against Tien (6-1, 7-6, 6-2) and will face Svajda for a spot in the third round.
