Humbert and Mannarino Secure Their Spots in the Third Round of the Cincinnati Masters 1000

Ugo Humbert and Adrian Mannarino smoothly advanced through the second round in Cincinnati.
Humbert, playing his first tournament since Wimbledon, made a successful return to hard courts by defeating Coleman Wong (6-3, 6-4), who had previously beaten Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard. His last victory on the tour dated back to June in ’s-Hertogenbosch. He will next face either Frances Tiafoe or Roberto Carballes Baena.
Mannarino, who came through qualifying, had comfortably won his first-round match against Jordan Thompson (6-2, 6-2). He continued his strong form on Saturday with a solid 6-3, 6-3 victory over world No. 24 Tomáš Macháč.
The 37-year-old veteran will face Tommy Paul in his next match. The two last met at the Paris Masters last year, where the Frenchman won in straight sets (6-3, 7-5).
