Humbert: "The match against Zverev last year was completely crazy".
Ugo Humbert won't be facing Alexander Zverev for the first time at Paris-Bercy, this Sunday in the tournament final. The Frenchman already faced the German in the second round last year, and the result was a huge three-and-a-half-hour battle.
A battle won in the tie-break of the third set (6-4, 6-7[3], 7-6[5]) by Zverev in a completely insane atmosphere. Humbert is hoping for a similar atmosphere today, with a different outcome to last season.
Ugo Humbert: "Last year's match against Zverev was completely crazy. There was a great level of play, an incredible scenario, and then it gave me confidence, and I'm piling on the bricks as I go along.
There are matches against great players that I've hooked on to, but haven't won. But every time, I say to myself, you're not far off, you're not far off. And then everything comes together, and that's what's so nice about tennis.
After that, it's going to be a great battle. I'm thinking about one thing and that's recovering and preparing as well as I can, because that's the only thing I can control. That's the only thing I can master. And that's it, I'm doing my utmost to be ready for this next fight."
