Humbert to challenge Alcaraz after dispatching Giron at Paris-Bercy!
Ugo Humbert wasted no time on court n°1 this Wednesday in the second round of the Rolex Paris Masters 2024. Facing American qualifier Marcos Giron, ranked 49th in the world, the Frenchman, ranked 18th in the world, won in exactly one hour (6-3, 6-2). He will now face Carlos Alcaraz in the last 16.
Despite missing just two games in the middle of the first set, Humbert largely dominated the match against Giron.
He was excellent on serve (68% of 1st serves, 100% of points won behind his 1st serve) and took his chances when they came (3 break points converted out of 4).
Things will obviously be much more complicated against Alcaraz, who will have to play his best tennis non-stop, but he can count on the support of the French fans on Centre Court to help him do just that.
