I am a good example that even at my age, you can still win trophies," Maria's words after claiming her biggest title at Queen's

Tatjana Maria, 37, secured the biggest title of her career on Sunday by winning the WTA 500 at Queen's against Amanda Anisimova (6-3, 6-4).
Coming through the qualifiers, the German lived a dream this week in London, defeating four top-20 players along the way (Muchova, Rybakina, Keys, and Anisimova). Her slice-based game worked wonders, frustrating each of her opponents.
Naturally emotional after this triumph, which she had hardly dared to hope for, Maria reflected on her longevity and the support of her family during the press conference:
"This means a lot to me. I'm 37 years old, and I just won this trophy. People always told me, 'Maybe it's time, maybe you're too old.' They’d come up with any excuse. I am a good example that even at my age, you can still win trophies.
I am very proud of myself and what I’ve achieved by winning this tournament. I always believed in it, and so did my husband. That’s why we kept going. There was always this hope that I could win big titles and achieve great things on the court. This week, I had confidence. I believed in myself from the first point to the last. That’s how it was in every match.
This is a special moment for all of us as a family. We won together because we do everything together. I didn’t win this trophy alone—it belongs to my family too.
