I am sad because I would have liked to go further," Atmane comments on his withdrawal from the US Open
Térence Atmane spoke on his social media to discuss his injury and absence from the US Open. The French player will make his return at the Chengdu tournament.
He states: "Hello everyone. After undergoing an MRI of the foot yesterday in New York, we detected a partial intermediate-grade tear of the medial collateral ligament of the first metatarsophalangeal joint.
A grade 2 muscle injury affecting the medial head of the flexor hallucis brevis muscle. A low-grade partial tear of the medial sesamoid ligament of the phalanx.
In other words, this will prevent me from participating in the US Open. I am sad, because with my recent result, I would have liked to go further, but trying to be reasonable and preparing for Asia was the best decision for my team and myself.
See you soon in Chengdu, Térence.
