I am very, very confident about Alcaraz and Sinner being in Toronto next year," says tournament director Karl Hale

The director of the Toronto Masters 1000, Karl Hale, reflected on the 2025 edition of his tournament. While many players like Sinner and Alcaraz skipped the event this year, the 57-year-old confirmed they will be present next year. The Canadian made these remarks on the *Nothing Major Podcast*.
"Regarding Draper and Djokovic, they were injured and are also missing Cincinnati. As for Alcaraz and Sinner, it certainly wasn’t what we wanted. I think Carlos and Jannik need to look at our tour, the ATP Tour, and commit to these major tournaments. We are in talks with them to ensure they will participate in our event in the future.
Additionally, next year, there will be three weeks between Wimbledon and Toronto. This year, there were only two. The turnaround was really tight. I told them—because we were in discussions when they withdrew—'Okay, but just make sure you’re here in 2026.'
So I am very, very confident they will be in Toronto next year, and I don’t think it will be an issue, given what we’re doing with the tournaments, the prize money, and everything else.
