Shanghai 2024: The Day Sinner Dominated Djokovic to Claim His Fourth Masters 1000

On October 13, 2024, in Shanghai, Jannik Sinner dazzled the tennis world by dominating Novak Djokovic 7-6, 6-3, denying the Serbian a historic achievement: reaching the milestone of 100 singles titles.

In 1 hour and 37 minutes of play, the Italian never conceded a single break point, overpowered Djokovic with the efficiency of his serve, and established himself more than ever as the master of 2024. On his side, Djokovic, previously undefeated in Shanghai finals (4-0 before), was aiming for his fifth title and thus his 100th singles title.

As for the course of the match. The two players went blow for blow until the tie-break of the first set. In the decisive game, Sinner took control by winning it 7-4.

After returning from the locker rooms, Sinner shifted into high gear and gradually, the Serbian faded. A great victory for the Italian, who had just lost in Shanghai to Alcaraz 10 days ago. A result that allowed him to secure his 17th career title, the fourth in Masters 1000.
