Eliminated in the Wimbledon quarterfinals by Belinda Bencic (7-6, 7-6), Mirra Andreeva appeared at a press conference to share her thoughts.
But the 18-year-old player had to answer a question about the war in Ukraine, which requires Russian athletes to compete under a neutral flag. When asked to take a stance on the issue, she stated:
"When I play tennis, I focus only on that. I don’t think about anything else. I try to improve every day and enjoy my life. I can say I am in favor of peace, and I hope everything will be resolved soon.
