I don't feel like I would have liked to be there," Nadal honest about the Roland-Garros final
Questioned by the press during a golf tournament in Spain, Nadal shared his thoughts on the Roland-Garros final between Alcaraz and Sinner. Although he is very happy for his compatriot, the Spaniard admitted he didn’t feel any particular envy or frustration regarding his career retirement, despite having reached the final at Porte d’Auteuil 14 times.
"I don’t feel like I would have liked to be there. I watched the tournament like any other fan, excited to see a place that has been so important in my career, and I simply enjoyed the tennis. This is my new reality—I don’t look beyond that.
It was a match for the ages. I’m very happy for Carlos. It was a spectacular final, very exciting. To finish with the trophy after Sinner came so close to winning—I’m very happy for him.
