"I don't have a knife to my throat," Jeanjean discusses her financial health

At 30, Léolia Jeanjean savors her qualification for the Australian Open 2026. The Frenchwoman, now world No. 103, explains how this success transforms her daily life and offers her a financial serenity that many players on the circuit dream of.

World No. 103, Léolia Jeanjean has secured her spot for the Australian Open in 2026. The Frenchwoman is the last on the list, guaranteeing her at least 132,000 Australian dollars.

Interviewed by Tennis Actu, she reflected on her fruitful year and what has changed in her daily life: "It changes my daily life in the sense that, first of all, I have my coach with me all year. I've also managed to expand the staff: now I'll do between 10 and 15 weeks with a physical trainer during tournaments.

"I can put money aside"

I have my physical trainer at home too. I now have a mental coach as well. And on a tour like Cincinnati, for example: I had played Cincinnati, Montreal and the US Open, I took a sparring partner with me.

I took a friend I knew very well, who plays very well, who is at -2/6 and I asked him to come with us. So the prize money changes that: this ease of saying 'now, I can travel with a few more people, I can maybe travel a bit further, a bit longer'.

If we need to do training weeks elsewhere, that's also doable. Now I can put money aside, I don't have a knife to my throat, I'm not counting every euro like back in the day when I was playing 15,000 tournaments, where I had to take Airbnbs instead of staying at the official hotel.

Actually, that's mainly it: it makes life easier. And yes, it feels good: if you're a bit careful, you can still put some aside. And then I'm 30 years old, so we know the years aren't unlimited: every year is important, for the body, etc. Not getting injured. So I hope we'll continue on this path."

As we move to the end of this month and also closing out the year I am wishing all of those following me a Merry Christmas and a Happy/Healthy New Year.

Let's make that wish for all 2000 plus players hoping for 5 wins each day. Hoping ŵhen we open the results page to see all green, and no red. And especially NO CANCELED matches.

From me and my rotti JAZ, I bid you all good night, and see you in...

why did tennis tonic void predictions on the match between Chwalinska and Huergo at the Quito tournament? The match was played to completion and on time. If TT feels the match is one sided, and of course it was, then don't put it up for prediction. This is getting irritating.

The finals are here, and we scramble for the best finish. I've been chasing "King" all year and I was able to shrink the spread a little. Skelp is also closing the gap.

Seasons best to all the regulars in our league.

Will you all be back in the new year.?

Steffi Graf completed a Golden Slam (not just a career Grand Slam) when she was 19. She is the only person to accomplish that, winning the four majors plus Olympic gold the same calendar year.
