"I eat a hamburger before, during, or after a tournament," Alcaraz's confessions about his lifestyle
Often criticized for his lifestyle, Alcaraz wanted to set the record straight in an interview shared by Tennis Up To Date. While he describes himself as someone who enjoys life, the native of El Palmar doesn’t hesitate to indulge in small treats—but always in moderation.
"I eat a hamburger before, during, or after a tournament. And I always allow myself dessert, a little chocolate—it’s no problem for me. How do I celebrate my wins? When I get back home.
My mother’s cooking is always the best. I drink champagne and Coca-Cola, which I don’t do during tournaments… Without overdoing it, of course." He then turns to his manager: "Without overdoing it (smiles)."
On the sporting side, the Spaniard will return to competition in Cincinnati, the last Masters 1000 before the US Open. Last year, he lost in the first round to France’s Monfils (4-6, 7-6, 6-4).
