I feel like at 23, I haven’t reached my peak yet," says Sinner
Jannik Sinner spoke at a press conference after his victory in the Wimbledon final against Carlos Alcaraz.
The Italian got his revenge on the Spaniard after losing to him in a hard-fought final at Roland Garros.
For him, this rivalry pushes him to improve every day, and he feels he can still do better. He stated: "It’s not easy to play against someone you’ve lost to many times recently.
But at the same time, I feel like I’ve been very close to beating him every time. I never let it discourage me, and I still admire Alcaraz as someone superior because I feel he’s done better than me.
I tried to prepare well because I knew other challenges were waiting for me—not just against Carlos, but against all the other players too.
I’m happy to see the good work we’re doing, and honestly, I feel like at 23, I haven’t reached my peak yet.
I hope to keep improving, but it’s important to have these kinds of players ahead of me to remind us that we have to keep giving our all every day to be good.
