I feel like, further away from the main court or on Suzanne-Lenglen, it's more chaotic," Sinner says about the French crowd

I feel like, further away from the main court or on Suzanne-Lenglen, it's more chaotic, Sinner says about the French crowd

Since the start of the fortnight at Roland-Garros, several players have spoken out against the atmosphere created by the French crowd, like Miomir Kecmanovic or Jaume Munar.

For his part, Jannik Sinner, who faced Arthur Rinderknech and Richard Gasquet in his first two matches, shared his thoughts on the French supporters:

"The crowd during my two matches was very respectful. When you play here against a French player, the atmosphere is naturally different. It’s the same in Italy. There are always some people who shout a bit, but that’s normal.

I feel like, further away from the main court or on Suzanne-Lenglen, it’s more chaotic. I’ve glanced at a few matches, and at times, it can get very loud.

The French get much more support here, but it’s the same with the Americans at the US Open or the Australians at the Australian Open. That’s normal. The most important thing is to deliver a good match, because that’s what people come to see tennis for.
