I find it absurd that the final is played on a Thursday," laments Tiafoe about the Toronto Masters 1000 schedule
The Toronto Masters 1000 started yesterday and will conclude on Thursday, August 7.
This change from the usual Sunday finals has not been well-received by players, including Frances Tiafoe. During a press conference, the world No. 11 criticized the extended schedule of these Masters 1000 events:
"This tournament is a bit shorter than Madrid and Rome, and what’s convenient for me is that I’m close to home. If I lose, I can take a flight and go back. What seems absurd to me is that the final is played on a Thursday.
