"I gladly accepted the invitation," Sinner discusses the exhibition match against Alcaraz in South Korea
Early January 2026, Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner, the two strongest players on the ATP tour, will meet in Incheon, South Korea, to participate in an exhibition match.
This will serve as preparation for the Australian Open which will take place a few days later. Having recently won the ATP Finals, Jannik Sinner is already looking ahead and is eager to face his rival again in Asia.
"Alcaraz has almost no weaknesses"
"I have never been to South Korea, so I wanted to see for myself what the country is like. It's very interesting for me. Moreover, such exhibition matches are a great opportunity for Carlos (Alcaraz) and me. The fact that we can play in front of Korean tennis fans is something special.
Another important reason is the possibility to feel the rhythm of a competitive match at least once before the Australian Open. Getting back the feeling of playing on the court helps a lot in preparing for the season. I took all of this into account and I gladly accepted the invitation.
Alcaraz has almost no weaknesses. He is one of the best players on the tour, and perhaps the best. Matches against him are always huge challenges, but at the same time a pleasure. Each of our encounters is a new story, a new scenario.
He is very fast, so it is not easy to push him away from the ball, and he is also very strong mentally. Every rally is played as if it were the last. These are the things that make battles against him so difficult," Sinner assured Tribuna.
