Alcaraz-Sinner is already a very significant rivalry in tennis history. The Spaniard and the Italian have shared all Grand Slam titles for the past two seasons, and, in terms of consistency, they have only widened the gap with the rest of the tour.

The two best players in the world have already faced each other 16 times on the main tour (10-6 in favor of Alcaraz for now). This rivalry is emerging on the court, but also benevolent off it, and the two champions respect each other enormously. This is the case for the Spaniard, who responded to possible comparisons between Alcaraz and Sinner regarding the rivalry between Nadal and Federer.

"Rivalry always enhances fan interest"

"Such comparisons are a great honor for any athlete. The fact that fans watch our matches and feel this rivalry is already very important. In sports, rivalry always enhances fan interest. I myself was inspired by the rivalry between Rafa (Nadal) and Roger (Federer) when I was growing up as a player.

Jannik (Sinner) and I have already met in many big arenas, and we have played very intense matches, we have even faced each other several times in Grand Slam tournament finals. I think we really make each other stronger. We still have a long career ahead of us, and I am sure that our rivalry will continue to help both of us improve," Alcaraz assured Tribuna.

An ordinary match, a scathing phrase, and a totally failed prophecy. In 2019, Steve Johnson lost to a certain Jannik Sinner and swore that the latter would never go far.

As we move to the end of this month and also closing out the year I am wishing all of those following me a Merry Christmas and a Happy/Healthy New Year.

Let's make that wish for all 2000 plus players hoping for 5 wins each day. Hoping ŵhen we open the results page to see all green, and no red. And especially NO CANCELED matches.

From me and my rotti JAZ, I bid you all good night, and see you in...

why did tennis tonic void predictions on the match between Chwalinska and Huergo at the Quito tournament? The match was played to completion and on time. If TT feels the match is one sided, and of course it was, then don't put it up for prediction. This is getting irritating.

The finals are here, and we scramble for the best finish. I've been chasing "King" all year and I was able to shrink the spread a little. Skelp is also closing the gap.

Seasons best to all the regulars in our league.

Will you all be back in the new year.?

Steffi Graf completed a Golden Slam (not just a career Grand Slam) when she was 19. She is the only person to accomplish that, winning the four majors plus Olympic gold the same calendar year.
