"I had a tough start to the season, but overall it hasn’t been bad," Rybakina reflects on her 2025 season
Elena Rybakina advanced to the semifinals of the WTA 1000 in Montreal after Marta Kostyuk retired from their match.
In her post-match press conference, she reviewed the first eight months of her 2025 season.
"Overall, the season hasn’t been bad. Of course, I’ve had more success in recent years, and it was a bit complicated for me at the start of this year.
I feel like I usually played much better in the first half of the year, but it took me some time to get back to the level I want.
I think I’m now happy with how things are going, and I hope to change a bit of what’s happened in recent years and play even better in this second half of the season."
Rybakina will face Victoria Mboko on Thursday for a spot in the Montreal final.
