"I had back problems, I received two injections," says Zverev after his defeat against Fritz
Alexander Zverev exits the Laver Cup with two defeats, against Alex de Minaur and Taylor Fritz. In a press conference, he had a word for his opponent of the day, Fritz.
"Fritz has spectacular tennis; when he is at his best, he can hurt anyone. I gave it my all and almost won a set, but I couldn't seize my opportunities."
However, the German also spoke about his physical health and revealed he has back issues. He explains, "I was away from tennis for two weeks after the US Open due to back problems. I received two injections. For now, it's holding up; I hope it continues."
For the time being, Zverev is scheduled to participate in the Beijing tournament, which will take place from September 25 to October 1.
