"I hope to find my best form before Wimbledon," Rybakina discusses the transition from clay to grass

Elena Rybakina has advanced to the quarterfinals of the WTA 500 tournament in Berlin. After her opening win against Ashlyn Krueger, the Kazakh player, ranked 11th in the WTA, confirmed her form by defeating Katerina Siniakova in two tight sets (6-4, 7-6) and will now face world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka for a spot in the semifinals.
Following her victory over the Czech player, the 2022 Wimbledon champion spoke about her adjustment to grass, as she plays her second grass-court tournament this season after last week's Queen's Club.
"It’s not easy to switch surfaces, especially when moving to grass. It’s very different from clay. The ball doesn’t bounce as much, and it’s up to you to move as well as possible to position yourself correctly. The ball doesn’t come to you.
I also think the movement is different—you can’t slide. You have to adapt. Getting your feel for grass takes time, but fortunately, we have very good tournaments to play before the end of the month. I hope to find my best form before Wimbledon," she explained to Youku Sports.
