We wanted to change tennis a bit, to have more entertainment, says Badosa about mixed doubles at the US Open

Currently in Berlin to get accustomed to grass ahead of Wimbledon, Badosa gave a lengthy interview to Tennis Channel. When asked about the new mixed doubles format introduced by the US Open, the Spaniard expressed her excitement about participating:

"I loved all the players who are taking part. They are the best in the world. There are so many fun and interesting pairings to watch. I think it’s going to be very exciting. We wanted to change tennis a bit, to have more entertainment. And I think this is going to be an incredible show."

The 27-year-old player will team up with Tsitsipas. The pair competed last year in the previous edition but lost their opening match to the Olmos-Gonzalez duo in straight sets (7-6, 6-4).
