"I hope to keep a positive attitude to try and move forward," says Osaka after her loss to Raducanu in Washington

Naomi Osaka was eliminated in the round of 16 at the WTA 500 tournament in Washington. The Japanese player fell to Emma Raducanu (6-4, 6-2), and the world No. 51 continues her rollercoaster season, having not won three consecutive matches in a single tournament since Rome in May.
Speaking at a press conference after her defeat to the British player, the four-time Grand Slam champion remained optimistic, with the upcoming back-to-back tournaments in Montreal, Cincinnati, and the US Open on the horizon.
"Today, I didn’t get the result I wanted, but I hope to keep working and maintain a positive attitude to try and move forward. Honestly, I’ve worked a lot on my return, and ironically, I don’t think it went that badly today.
Emma (Raducanu) just served really well. I just need to keep going like this and also work on my serve because I know it’s my biggest weapon. In this match, I didn’t have a high enough first-serve percentage (46% overall).
As for my game, I’d say I felt good from the baseline. I felt like she was putting more balls in play at one point, and I just had to wait for the right moment.
I need to get used to feeling comfortable on the court and being aggressive whenever possible," concluded Osaka in her remarks to the media at the WTA 500 tournament in Washington after her exit.
