In an interview with Tennis365, Marta Kostyuk talked about the top female players and also the physical differences that can exist between some players, particularly with Aryna Sabalenka.

She explains: "We all have our own biological structure. Some have a higher testosterone level, others less. It's natural and it really helps. I feel smaller than them.

I try to figure out how to beat these players with my tennis skills, but I have to work harder to win points. I have to run much more than them to win points.

I can't gain 10 kg or grow 5 centimeters taller, so I have to give my all. Other players have advantages in other areas. That's just how I am. I look at the photos when we shake hands at the net and I appear so much smaller than some of my opponents.

It's part of the sport and it's a really fun challenge for me to face these players. There are many, many things I can do to improve myself, but they have an advantage over me.

Their confidence is simply different. I've played close matches against Aryna and you see how she handles break points. She doesn't care at all. She's confident in her ability to save them.

She hits a powerful serve and hits hard forehands. No doubt. She's world number one, she's played many finals and she has that confidence. It helps her not to doubt.

For me, it's not so easy to play without hesitation. It's an exciting sport and I enjoy the journey of trying to understand it.

From the Williams sisters to Alizé Cornet, from sponsors to the ATP and WTA tours, the debate over pay equality in tennis has never been more intense. Between undeniable progress and persistent inequalities, the king of racket sports finds itself facing its own contradictions.

As we move to the end of this month and also closing out the year I am wishing all of those following me a Merry Christmas and a Happy/Healthy New Year.

Let's make that wish for all 2000 plus players hoping for 5 wins each day. Hoping ŵhen we open the results page to see all green, and no red. And especially NO CANCELED matches.

From me and my rotti JAZ, I bid you all good night, and see you in...

why did tennis tonic void predictions on the match between Chwalinska and Huergo at the Quito tournament? The match was played to completion and on time. If TT feels the match is one sided, and of course it was, then don't put it up for prediction. This is getting irritating.

The finals are here, and we scramble for the best finish. I've been chasing "King" all year and I was able to shrink the spread a little. Skelp is also closing the gap.

Seasons best to all the regulars in our league.

Will you all be back in the new year.?

Steffi Graf completed a Golden Slam (not just a career Grand Slam) when she was 19. She is the only person to accomplish that, winning the four majors plus Olympic gold the same calendar year.
