"I think all of Italy wants to see this match," Musetti would like to face Sinner in the US Open quarterfinals
Italian tennis is at its best with the rise of Jannik Sinner, as well as Lorenzo Musetti this season, who entered the top 10 in April.
The native of Carrara secured his place in the US Open quarterfinals for the first time in his career after defeating Jaume Munar (6-3, 6-0, 6-1).
Interviewed on the court, Musetti admitted he had a preference regarding his next opponent, who will be either Alexander Bublik or Jannik Sinner.
"I hope to face Jannik in the quarterfinals… I think all of Italy wants to see this match," he told Eurosport.
