I think my first match with the plaque will be very special," Alcaraz reflects on the tribute to Nadal

Winning effortlessly in his first round at Roland-Garros (6-3, 6-4, 6-2) against qualifier Zeppieri, Alcaraz began his title defense in Paris. Asked after the match, the Spaniard spoke about the tribute to his compatriot Nadal on the Philippe-Chatrier court:
"Yesterday, for both all of Spain and the world of sports, it was a very exciting and moving day. I experienced it in a very special way. It was something incredible. I personally loved the way it was done, the manner in which he expressed himself to all of his loved ones and his team, on the court that, as he said, is the most special and important of his career.
Yesterday was a great day. I am really looking forward to playing on the Chatrier, and I think this first match with the plaque will be very special, because no one deserves it more than Rafa. It will be a very special moment for me.
