Alexander Bublik won the Halle tournament this Sunday and will once again make a leap in the ATP rankings, having been ranked just 80th in the world as recently as March.
Interviewed after his victory in the final against Daniil Medvedev, the Kazakh made a revelation about his career: "It’s hard to talk. I’ve had such tough months since last Wimbledon.
I was close to retiring after Wimbledon because I wasn’t enjoying it anymore. I promised my coach that I would stay, keep training, and after Wimbledon, I’d make a decision—whether I needed a break for a few months before trying to come back.
Now, this happens. I don’t know. Quarterfinals at Roland Garros, winner here.
