I was crying on the court, I had terrible flashbacks," Kvitova reflects on the knife attack she endured
In 2016, Petra Kvitova was attacked in her home by a burglar who injured the player's hand.
In comments relayed by Mario Boccardi, the Czech player revisited that moment and how she experienced it.
"I knew I was a great fighter on the court, but at that moment, I realized I was even greater, in a completely different version of myself.
It was amazing, even though it was very difficult to play tennis. I was crying on the court, I had terrible flashbacks, I had nightmares. It really wasn't easy.
It took time, but everything is fine now. There was a big question: would I be able to play tennis or not? And I was able to. It was my second career. It was incredible.
