The US Open, taking place from August 24 to September 7, has just announced the list of participating players. On the French side, we will see Loïs Boisson, Diane Parry, and Elsa Jacquemot, who recently entered the Top 100.
Alizé Cornet, who had hinted that Wimbledon qualifiers might have been her last career match, is indeed listed as an alternate. She will need three withdrawals to make it into the US Open main draw.
As for Léolia Jeanjean and Varvara Gracheva, they are the 1st and 8th alternates, respectively. In the main draw, Petra Kvitova will be using her protected ranking, along with Sorana Cirstea, Lin Zhu, Anastasija Sevastova, Yafan Wang, and Danka Kovinic.
