"I will now prepare for the last dance," says Garcia, absent from Wimbledon
Caroline Garcia is about to prepare for the final stretch of her professional career. In recent weeks, before Roland-Garros, the 31-year-old Frenchwoman announced she would retire at the end of the season, without giving further details about which tournament would be her last.
However, a back injury prevented her from competing at Wimbledon, but the former world No. 4 will soon return to training, as she announced on her social media in recent hours.
"I just got back from Wimbledon. For the first time in many years, I wasn’t there to compete in the tournament. This time, it was about recording podcast episodes and catching up with friends.
Honestly, I wondered how I would feel playing a different role. Would I have regrets? Sadness? Would I question my purpose, how others see me, or whether I still belong in this world? I arrived at Wimbledon with my head full of questions and left with my heart full of answers.
I came back with incredible memories, deep conversations, laughter, a sense of purpose, and a few powerful podcast episodes in the bag. I tend to worry about what could go wrong, especially when it comes to change or pursuing new goals.
But this trip reminded me that my future is bright, filled with meaningful projects, authentic people, joy, support, and love. Back on the court, I will now prepare for the last dance," she wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
