"I would like to try to be captain," Garcia discusses her ambition to lead the French BJK Cup team
Caroline Garcia will begin her final professional tournament tomorrow at the US Open.
The Frenchwoman, who has been determined to retire for several months now, will face Kamilla Rakhimova in the first round. In the meantime, she made an appearance on Marion Bartoli's show on RMC, discussing among other things her desire to become captain of the French BJK Cup team:
"At some point, I would like to because it's a competition that means a lot to me. I would like to try to be captain. I don't know if the timing is ideal right now."
For reference, the French team has been without a captain since the end of April and the departure of Julien Benneteau, and they are stuck in the second division of the competition.
