If I shed a little tear? Almost!" says Federer after the tribute to Nadal
The tribute to Rafael Nadal touched the tennis world with very moving moments and the speech delivered by the former world No. 1.
The arrival of the rest of the Big 4 (Federer, Djokovic, and Murray) was obviously one of the most important moments of the ceremony, symbolizing the rivalry but also the friendship that these four tennis legends have built over the years.
After the tribute, L'Équipe had the opportunity to obtain some reactions from the main individuals involved, like Federer:
"It was perfect! Frankly, presenting Rafa with this plaque forever was great. It didn't surprise me, because I knew in advance, unlike him. But I was happy for him, to see him so moved. Personally, the most moving moment was when I walked towards him entering the court.
It seemed to last a long time with the whole stadium watching us. It was a very strong moment for Novak, Andy, and me. Did I shed a little tear? Almost! Especially when I greeted Rafa, I felt he was very touched by this ceremony.
