If I Were a Coach, I Wouldn’t Say That to the Media," Says Baghdatis on Ivanisevic’s Comments About Tsitsipas’ Physical Condition

A few days ago, Goran Ivanisevic, the current coach of Stefanos Tsitsipas, gave an interview to the media outlet *Clay* in which he criticized his player’s physical condition.
The Croatian, a former Wimbledon champion, notably stated that he had "never seen a player in such poor physical shape." Present at the All England Club this week to compete in the legends’ tournament, Marcos Baghdatis was asked about the topic by *Ubitennis*:
"I’m not saying Goran is wrong in this interview. I know him, and I’m sure 99% of what he says is true. He says things as they are and as he sees them. But personally, I wouldn’t say that to the media. I’d say it to the rest of the team and to Stefanos. And if he doesn’t want to listen to me, then we part ways.
The most important thing is to find a way to wake Stefanos up, to get him back to where we all want to see him. Especially for me as a Cypriot and a Greek. Maybe Goran’s method is the right one. I hope the way Goran has taken charge will help Stefanos. What I want is for him to return to where he should be and to rediscover his love for the game.
