Daniel Altmaier will face Jannik Sinner again in the first round in Vienna, a few weeks after their encounter in Shanghai.

This Wednesday, Jannik Sinner will make his debut in the ATP 500 tournament in Vienna against Daniel Altmaier. The two men have faced each other three times on the main tour, with a record of two wins for the Italian and one for the German.

The latter, in fact, hopes to get revenge on his opponent of the day, after their last confrontation in Shanghai this year (6-3, 6-3 for Sinner). The world number 51 player discussed this upcoming duel against the world number 2.

"I believe I have several playing styles that I'm working on to become a better player. One of them is an aggressive version, and the other is a version where I'm a bit more patient. The mental aspect is also crucial.

I've improved as a player this year, I've won more matches and today, I feel more consistent. The next three or four months will give me the opportunity to improve even further.

We're at the end of the season, this match is going to be very demanding for me mentally. I'll talk to my team and we'll see what the best tactics are to start the match.

Depending on how the match progresses, we'll adapt. I'm approaching the match with a really positive attitude. I'm always someone who seeks revenge as soon as possible. I'm the type of person who likes to take on these kinds of challenges, it allows me to give my best.

I'm really looking forward to playing this match. Plus, there will be a lot of spectators, there will be a huge number of German supporters here in Vienna. Honestly, it makes me more than eager to be there," Altmaier assured in recent hours for Punto de Break.
