I’m going to approach this match with a lot of ambition, says Moutet before facing Djokovic

A major challenge awaits Corentin Moutet this Thursday, as he will face Novak Djokovic on the Suzanne Lenglen court at Roland-Garros.

During a press conference after his victory against Clément Tabur, as reported by Tennis Actu, Moutet explained how he plans to approach this match.

"It’s an honor to play against this kind of player. I’ve already faced him twice, including last year in Rome. I didn’t play well at all, I kind of missed my chance in that last match.

I think this is an opportunity to do things differently, to learn from my match in Rome. But it will surely be on a big court, with a crowd. It’s always an honor to play against this kind of player.

I was lucky enough to play here against Nadal a few years ago (in 2022). As for how I’ll approach it... I’ll approach it like any other match.

Like today, honestly—I expected to face a tough opponent with a lot of qualities, so at this level, you have to play your best tennis to win matches, whether they’re world No. 1 or No. 200.

I’ll prepare for it that way, with my team. And I’m going to arrive with a lot of ambition for this match.
