I'm more in the Big 12," Tsonga's joke during an exchange with Bartoli about the Big 3
Jo-Wilfried Tsonga retired in 2022 at Roland-Garros, capping off a career filled with great successes, including a Grand Slam final at the 2008 Australian Open, two Masters 1000 titles (Paris-Bercy 2008 and Toronto 2014), along with 16 other titles and a career-high ranking of world No. 5.
On the Prime Video set after the Roland-Garros final yesterday, Tsonga cracked a small joke when Marion Bartoli, also a consultant for the channel, mentioned the different generations that have shaped tennis.
Bartoli: "High-level sports, tennis, has evolved from generation to generation. We had McEnroe, we had Agassi and Sampras, the early 2000s with Safin, Hewitt, Roddick… And then came Roger, very quickly followed by Rafa. Then Novak, Andy, Stan, and Jo arrived."
Tsonga: "It’s nice of you to say Jo, that’s kind (laughs)."
Bartoli: "Of course, you were top 10, you reached a Grand Slam final, you’ve beaten all of them."
Tsonga: "Me, I’m in the Big 12 (laughs).
