Casper Ruud exited Roland-Garros in the second round, hampered by a left knee injury.
With the grass season approaching, the Norwegian, far from a fan of the surface, had decided to enter only the Mallorca tournament. He ultimately withdrew from the Spanish tournament yesterday before announcing his withdrawal from Wimbledon today.
Ruud, who has never advanced past the third round at the London Grand Slam, will take time to recover from his injury before returning to competition in Gstaad, on clay.
His withdrawal allows Elmer Moller to enter the main draw for the first time in his career.
