Elena Rybakina fell to Victoria Mboko in the semifinals of the WTA 1000 in Montreal. Playing against a Canadian, she also had to face the crowd.
She said: "Yes, it wasn’t very pleasant, of course. I’ve played in many situations where the crowd supported the other player, but I’d say here it was tough from the beginning.

I felt it from the very first game we played, especially between serves. That’s just how it was.
It was something I somewhat expected, and it had nothing to do with my serve, my mistakes, or my poor choices. It was obvious the crowd would cheer for their player.
