"It wasn't a bad tournament, but yes, the result wasn't what I wanted," says Swiatek after her defeat at Roland Garros

Three-time defending champion Swiatek fell to world No. 1 Sabalenka in the Roland Garros semifinals (7-6, 4-6, 6-0). Struggling in the first set and completely absent in the final one, the Polish player reflected on the circumstances of her loss during the press conference:
"It wasn't a bad tournament, but yes, the result wasn't what I wanted. I think I lost a bit of intensity. She played her game—meaning with a lot of power—from the first set to the last. Unfortunately, I didn’t handle that well."
The 22-year-old also discussed her schedule for the coming weeks:
"I’ll have a few days off, but the coaches will plan it. I hope I can get a good little preparation period on grass, because it’s always been tough, especially when I wanted to be home for a while. But I don’t feel the need to go home now, so maybe I’ll go somewhere in Europe and train." The remarks were reported by Polskie Radio 24.
Swiatek hasn’t won a trophy since Roland Garros 2024 and will also drop to No. 7 in the world rankings after the tournament.
