"It wasn't an easy match, I'm really happy," Jacquemot delighted with her victory at the US Open

Elsa Jacquemot won her first match at the US Open against Maria Bouzkova, ranked 44th in the world.
The French player, who has been in the Top 100 for a few weeks, shared her first impressions with L'Équipe: "It wasn't an easy match, I'm really happy with this match because she's a strong player, she plays very well, and she's been getting very good results lately.
I played a great match despite the stress because it's not easy to play these early rounds like that, so I'm really proud and happy with myself.
I was the one mostly in control of the match, I tried to be as aggressive as possible. She fought until the end, and I'm glad I stayed at least somewhat calm despite the tension that was there.
My serve was a bit off in the second set, but I managed to move past it. I'm supposed to have a strong serve, so it wasn't easy."
In the next round, Jacquemot will face Leylah Fernandez.
