The US Open organizers have unveiled the schedule for the third day of play.

The 2022 champion, Swiatek, will kick off the action on Arthur Ashe Stadium against Colombia's Arango (starting at 5:30 PM French time), followed by the world number one and defending champion, Sinner. The Italian, who has won the last three hard-court Grand Slams, will begin his campaign against Kopriva.

Next, American and 2023 champion Coco Gauff will take the court. Highly anticipated by her home crowd, she will face Australia's Tomljanovic (not before 1:00 AM French time). Finally, world number three Zverev will close out the day against Chile's Tabilo.

On Louis Armstrong Stadium, Musetti will have to counter the extremely dangerous serve of his opponent, Mpetshi Perricard (starting at 5:00 PM French time). Anisimova will follow against Birrell on the same court, succeeded by Minnen-Osaka and the match between Moller and local favorite Paul in the final rotation.

On the other courts, Bublik will challenge the 2014 champion, Čilić, and Boulter will have her hands full against Kostyuk (Grandstand).

On the French side, Monfils will face Safiullin (final rotation on Court 5), Muller will take on Tsitsipas, who has struggled this season (third rotation on Court 7). Gaston will need to defeat Japan's Mochizuki (Court 10), and Halys will play another French speaker in Goffin (Court 11).

Meanwhile, Royer, who received a wildcard for his recent performances, will challenge China's Bu on Court 13 (starting at 7:00 PM French time). Finally, France's top-ranked player, Boisson, will attempt to overcome world number 72 Golubic on Court 10 (starting at 7:00 PM French time).

Is padel threatening tennis? Inside the revolution shaking up the established order
Is padel threatening tennis? Inside the revolution shaking up the established order

Born almost by accident in an Acapulco garden, padel has in fifty years become a global phenomenon that both fascinates and worries tennis. Its meteoric rise is already reshaping the landscape of racket sports.

Omnipresent cameras, line judges on the verge of extinction, mistakes that persist nonetheless: technology fascinates as much as it divides. Tennis, at a crossroads, is still searching for its balance between progress and emotion.
As a laboratory for tomorrow’s tennis, does the Next Gen Masters have a future?
As a laboratory for tomorrow’s tennis, does the Next Gen Masters have a future?

Conceived as a bold bet to prepare for the post–Big 3 era, the Next Gen Masters has shaken up the codes of modern tennis. A pioneering, visionary tournament, but now in search of an identity.
The paradox dividing tennis: exhausted players and a saturated calendar, yet ever more exhibitions

Exhausted but omnipresent stars, ever-longer tournaments and exhibitions that have become a business in their own right: tennis is revealing its deepest contradictions, torn between spectacle and physical survival.

As we move to the end of this month and also closing out the year I am wishing all of those following me a Merry Christmas and a Happy/Healthy New Year.

Let's make that wish for all 2000 plus players hoping for 5 wins each day. Hoping ŵhen we open the results page to see all green, and no red. And especially NO CANCELED matches.

From me and my rotti JAZ, I bid you all good night, and see you in...

why did tennis tonic void predictions on the match between Chwalinska and Huergo at the Quito tournament? The match was played to completion and on time. If TT feels the match is one sided, and of course it was, then don't put it up for prediction. This is getting irritating.

The finals are here, and we scramble for the best finish. I've been chasing "King" all year and I was able to shrink the spread a little. Skelp is also closing the gap.

Seasons best to all the regulars in our league.

Will you all be back in the new year.?

Steffi Graf completed a Golden Slam (not just a career Grand Slam) when she was 19. She is the only person to accomplish that, winning the four majors plus Olympic gold the same calendar year.
