"It will be something immense," the Australian Open director already plans a tribute to Djokovic during his final participation

Novak Djokovic is now considered by the majority of tennis observers and fans as the greatest player of all time, ahead of his rivals Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer.
The 38-year-old Serb continues to write tennis history and has qualified for the semifinals of every Grand Slam tournament this season, a feat only Jannik Sinner has been able to match in 2025.
Still chasing a 25th Major title, Djokovic will face Carlos Alcaraz in the US Open semifinals this Friday. In pursuit of a fifth title in New York, the former world number one has also won the Australian Open ten times in his career, never losing in the final.
Craig Tiley, director of the Australian tournament since 2006, has already planned a massive tribute for Djokovic on the day he decides to play the Australian Open for the last time, though that is not expected to be in the near future.
"All I can say is that it will be something immense. However, I hope it won't be anytime soon. He is a great player, and I would like to see him play longer.
He is still at the top of his game. When the time comes... we already have a few ideas! It would be premature to reveal them now. I don't see Novak (Djokovic) retiring anytime soon. He is in peak form.
We are focusing more on organizing a major event in 2026. The US Open did a remarkable job; it was a very good event, and we look forward to raising the bar even higher in Melbourne," Tiley assured the media outlet Clay.
Nope. If he was he would be able to compete with Sinner and Alcaraz.
