Despite their disagreement related to the health crisis, Djokovic and Kyrgios have buried the hatchet and now get along very well. Proof of this is their participation together in doubles at the Brisbane tournament at the end of 2024. When questioned by the press, the Serb highlighted his tour colleague's talent, while also mentioning his physical struggles:

"As controversial and different as he is, people love him. He draws crowds. I saw him talking with Bublik about a match against Sabalenka, a battle of the sexes like Billie Jean King's back in the day. It would be very interesting if that happened. Also, I really hope he can finish his career on the court.

It would be a shame if injuries prevent him from playing a few more big tournaments. Unfortunately, he hasn't had the necessary discipline, but if he had 30% of it, he would easily be in the Top 10. He played a Wimbledon final without warming up, without serious training, without a coach, and he beat all the best of us."

For reference, since 2022, the player has never truly returned to the ATP tour, suffering repeated injuries. His last singles appearance dates back to the Miami Masters 1000 last March.

Buy he doesn't and seems to never really have had. What a waste of raw athletic ability.

One thing that the toxic haters of Djokovic don't recognise is that their beloved Nadal or alcazar could never string 3 coherent words in English. You could never understand what they say, no!

Djokovic, however, is nigh native speaker fluent in English. It's superb.

Not only that, but Djokovic speaks 12 languages.

Nadal or alcazar can barely speak their own mother tongue.

So, before you come to me about on court behaviour and that being a marker of goat ness - consider the off court presence first.

Nadal never a GOAT. And let's not even talk about his doping.

Hhhhmmm ... Anyone who can play a professional sport at the level of the top competitors in the world can do so for the sole primary reason of winning the genetic lotto and being incredibly athletically gifted. Without that, all the dreaming, desire, hard work and sacrifice in the world will be for nothing. That same concept applies to the ability to speak multiple languages. Either a person won the genetic lotto and has the plasticity in the language centers in their brain to learn multiple languages or they don't. It's primarily pure luck. Sidis, one of the most intelligent humans ever, spoke eight languages fluently and even created an entirely new language. That by the time he was eight years old. As an adult, he spoke over 40 languages fluently.

If their health disagreement was about the COVID vaccination it must be very gratifying for Novak now after all that has come out showing how un-scientific all that was (vax lies, masking, social distancing). I'm not a Novak fan, but hooray for him sticking to his beliefs, and true science.......and winning.
Never forget the US Open and Australian Open did not let him play because he refused the vax, but allowed hundreds of thousands of spectators to sit next to each other, maskless no less, without proving their vaccination history.
This no doubt affected the Grand Slam record as Novak was top seed at both, especially at AO where he had won 9 titles.

As we move to the end of this month and also closing out the year I am wishing all of those following me a Merry Christmas and a Happy/Healthy New Year.

Let's make that wish for all 2000 plus players hoping for 5 wins each day. Hoping ŵhen we open the results page to see all green, and no red. And especially NO CANCELED matches.

From me and my rotti JAZ, I bid you all good night, and see you in...

why did tennis tonic void predictions on the match between Chwalinska and Huergo at the Quito tournament? The match was played to completion and on time. If TT feels the match is one sided, and of course it was, then don't put it up for prediction. This is getting irritating.

The finals are here, and we scramble for the best finish. I've been chasing "King" all year and I was able to shrink the spread a little. Skelp is also closing the gap.

Seasons best to all the regulars in our league.

Will you all be back in the new year.?

Steffi Graf completed a Golden Slam (not just a career Grand Slam) when she was 19. She is the only person to accomplish that, winning the four majors plus Olympic gold the same calendar year.
