It would be better to let the players breathe a bit first, Connors revisits Sabalenka's controversial remarks

After her defeat in the final of the French Open, Aryna Sabalenka made controversial comments, saying that if Iga Swiatek had beaten her, she would have also beaten Coco Gauff.

For Jimmy Connors, it's important to be forgiving towards the Belarusian and, above all, to give players time to express themselves in order to regain their composure.

He states: "After a tough match, whether it's the finals, the French Open, Wimbledon, or whatever, everyone wants to know your opinion immediately.

Maybe it would be better to give you five minutes and let the players breathe a bit.

But people want to hear from them right away, they want the scoop. And then they criticize. That's why it's always been a problem for me.

And moreover, not all players have the same idea in mind, each is unique. So let them breathe from time to time.
