Italian wave at Roland-Garros behind Sinner and Paolini
A veritable Italian wave, almost a tidal wave, has swept through this 2024 edition of the French Open. In addition to Jasmine Paolini, who this Saturday faces Iga Swiatek in the Ladies' Singles final, and Jannik Sinner, who on Friday was beaten in the semi-finals of the Men's Singles after another epic duel with Carlos Alcaraz, the Italians are present in the final stages in most categories of the French Open.
This afternoon, the Men's Doubles final will pit Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori against Marcelo Arevalo and Mate Pavic. On Sunday, the Ladies Doubles final will pit Paolini, once again, and Sara Errani against Coco Gauff and Katerina Siniakova. And even on the junior side, Italy's Lorenzo Carboni was also in the semi-finals of the Boys' Singles draw, beaten by Czech Tomasz Berkieta.
A veritable wave of green, white and red.
