"It's a shame I'm the only person to have beaten you this year," Pegula's humorous message to Alcaraz

In a lighthearted message, world No. 7 WTA player Pegula congratulated Alcaraz on his final victory at the US Open.
On her Instagram account, she stated: "Congratulations Carlos, too bad I'm the only person who beat you at the US Open this year."
The American was referring to the first round of mixed doubles that took place during the tournament's "Fan Week." Paired with Britain's Draper, the two players overcame the star duo of this edition: Alcaraz and Raducanu (4-2, 4-2).
Subsequently, the American-British pair was eliminated by the team composed of Ruud and Swiatek (3-5, 5-3, 10-8) in the semifinals.
The 31-year-old player also competed in singles. However, despite a very solid run, she left Flushing Meadows before the final, knocked out by Sabalenka (4-6, 6-3, 6-4). It is worth noting that the Belarusian had already beaten her in the final of the previous edition.
